Link box or rear bucket
A link box has higher sides and a full back panel, so it holds far more than a bucket of the same width. It's built for carrying; the bucket for scooping and levelling.
Manual or hydraulic tip
With the lever you release the catch and the box tips by itself; with the hydraulic ram it's all done from the seat. Go hydraulic if you tip often or carry heavy material. Hydraulic boxes have two hoses on standard 1/2" agricultural couplings, so your tractor needs two hydraulic outlets.
Load rating and capacity
Capacity is the volume, the load rating is the maximum weight. With heavy material such as gravel or wet soil you'll reach the load rating before the box is full: go by weight, not volume.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a link box and a rear bucket?
A link box holds more and is made for carrying; a bucket is for scooping and levelling.
How much can I carry?
The load rating is on the listing. Your linkage must lift the weight of the box plus the load.
Can I use it for levelling or snow?
Yes, the edge of the floor scoops and levels soil, gravel and snow.
Can I take it on the road?
A link box is a working tool for yards, fields and woods. For road work you need a road-legal agricultural trailer.
How do I know it'll fit my tractor?
Check your linkage category and measure the spacing between the two lower link pins: it must sit between the minimum and maximum on the listing.
