When to use it
On ground compacted by machinery, waterlogged or never worked deep down. Unlike a plough, it doesn't bring the subsoil to the surface and it keeps the soil structure intact.
Power and depth
Depth is set with the tractor's linkage, using draught control: the subsoiler has no depth wheels. The deeper you go, the more power you need; on hard ground, four-wheel drive and front weights help.
Frequently asked questions
Will it suit my 25 hp tractor?
Yes, if 25 hp falls within the horsepower range on the listing and the linkage is the right category. Measure the lower link spacing too.
How do I set the depth?
With the tractor's linkage, using draught control: the subsoiler has no depth wheels.
Can it replace the plough?
When there's no need to turn the soil, yes: it breaks up compaction and leaves the fertile topsoil on the surface.
On which soils does it work best?
On compacted, clay or waterlogged ground.
